Quick Overview

This prominent cough remedy is best known for relieving rattling coughs that bring up little or no phlegm. Antimonium's cough. They are worse in the evening and at night, lying down, getting warm and in cold weather. If there's fever, there are chills, cold clammy sweat and faintness. Other applications include lower back pain that feels like there's weight on the coccyx. Nausea that can turn to vomiting and craves fruit and small drinks of cold water. Sleep feels irresistable.

When coughs and stubborn mucus drain energy, this homeopathic single remedy can be very helpful. Its respiratory relief includes rattling coughs marked by great accumulations of stubborn mucus, that sounds loose but refuses to rise. Over time the cough makes one increasingly weak, drowsy, sweaty and pale. Antimonium also applies to symptos of minor skin eruptions, low back pain and gastric complaints - nausea that can lead to vomiting, craves acidic foods and causes faintness and headaches. Tongue is red but with a thick white coating in the middle. Antimonium’s symptoms are generally worse in the evening and at night, lying down or with milk and better sitting up. Lying on the right side might be the only option for rest, even though sleepiness is persistent.
