In his book, Lotus Materia Medica, Robin Murphy offers these nerve symptoms for Avena: "Avena sativa has a selective action on brain and nervous system, favorably influencing their nutritive function. The leading indications are:

Nervous exhaustion, general weakness. Sleeplessness with nervous exhaustion and weakness. Insomnia due to drugs or alcohol.
... Mental symptoms from mental or physical overwork. .... Inability to keep the mind fixed on any one subject... Brain-fatigue with sleeplessness.
Insomnia worse during convalescence.
Avena sativa is pre-eminently an anti-neurotic, quieting the nervous system to a remarkable degree.
The writer has employed this drug in his private practice for a number of years with the most gratifying results. He has very rarely found it to fail when indicated...."

Among a long list of descriptive symptoms, Miranda Castro lists these sleep-related symptoms for Chamomilla in her book, Complete Homeopathy Handbook:
"Insomnia with sleepiness. This insomnia results from pain, anger or stimulants (coffee, etc.), or it can be caused by too much chamomile tea
- even in babies. The person may be restless.
It is especially suited to teething children and women in labour, and anyone who has been in a highly emotional state (especially angry) for a long period of time and who has become over-sensitive, mentally or physically, as a result. Hahnemann said of this remedy, ‘It ought not to be given to those who bear pain with patience and resignation,’ as its keynote is unbearable pain."

Humulus lupulus (hops) currently not in stock as a single remedy
Whether you call it Humulus lupulus or Lupulus humulus, you won’t find this remedy in every book on homeopathy - or even in our current stock of single remedies. But a few books offer insightful details: A Modern Herbal, by Mrs. M. Grieve, offers the herbal background:

"The Hop (Humulus Lupulus, Linn.) is a native British plant... given in nervousness and hysteria and at bedtime to induce sleep; in cases of nervousness, delirium and inflammation being considered to produce a most soothing effect, frequently procuring for the patient sleep after long periods of sleeplessness in overwrought conditions of the brain."
Frans Vermeulen’s Concordant Materia Medica offers these homeopathic insights on the remedy from the same source, hops, Lupulus humulus:
"Characteristics: Is a good remedy in unstrung condition of the nervous system and nausea, dizziness, headache... Urethral burning. Drawing and twitching in almost every muscle. Nervous tremors; wakefulness and delirium of drunkards. Giddiness and stupefaction...
Sleep - Drowsy during the day."
Robin Murphy’s Lutus Materia Medica adds:
"Drawing and twitching in almost every muscle. Slow pulse. Nervous tremors, wakefulness and delirium of alcoholics. Giddiness and stupefaction...
Mind - Confusion. Frequent starting from deep sleep with violent delirium from which he could only be aroused with great difficulty...."

The list of symptoms for Passiflora is not very long, but includes these telling nervous symptoms in Franz Vermeulen’s Concordant Materia Medica:

"An efficient anti-spasmodic. ...Has a quieting effect on the nervous system. Insomnia, produces normal sleep....
Has been used for breaking the morphine habit.
Sleep - Restless and wakeful, resulting from exhaustion, esp. in the feeble, infants and the aged. Insomnia of infants and the aged, and the mentally worried, and overworked...
Worse: Mental worries. Exhaustion. Mental excitement, Night. After meals. Nervousness"
