Remedies?
Expert Insights and 3
Homeopathy Stories
The enthusiasm for
homeopathy among animal lovers, pet
owners and veterinarians
is growing every day. But the idea
of treating animals and
people with the same medicine still
seems strange to some of
us. In researching this topic we
found animal success
stories like your testimonials filling
web sites and mailboxes
all over the internet.

One inspiring site, Wild Again,
focuses on homeopathic medicine in wildlife
rehabilitation. It states that, “the use of homeopathic
medicines to treat acute trauma is growing rapidly with
a wide range of wildlife species. Applying classical
homeopathy has helped many animals recover more quickly
and be released back to the wild faster than with
conventional modalities alone. Following a brief
overview of wildlife rehabilitation, [their website
offers] a sample of successful classical homeopathy
cases with wild mammals and birds." For some of their
great stories, visit Wild Again at

would rather get you these great stories our customers
want to share with you. |

Three Stories for Pets and People
Among the many pet remedy stories you have sent, there
are three that help show that the same remedy can work
for humans and pets.

Apis Saves the Show
Last fall I was
showing my Chesapeake Bay Retriever in dog agility at
the Dog Owners Training Club weekend trials in
Lynchburg, VA. When traveling, I always take a variety
of homeopathic remedies with me, just in case & I had
reason to be glad of this on that occasion. One of my
performance dogs, Talley, is attracted to flying bugs of
every kind & makes it her personal duty to catch &
dispose of every one within her sight. On this
particular day the yellow jackets were swarming all over
the show grounds. You guessed it. Talley grabbed at &
was stung by one in the mouth. I grabbed my kit &
started giving
Apis every fifteen minutes. Starting the
remedy so quickly kept her from having any discomfort,
swelling or even frothing at the mouth. People
were being stung left & right & popping Benadril even
though I offered the
Apis remedy. Before long word came
that one of the judges had been stung & was looking for
something for the sting. She tried the
Apis & was amazed
that in a half hour you could no longer even see where
the yellow jacket had attacked. She & my Talley went
through the rest of the day feeling fine, while others
continued to feel the sting and the side effects of
other medications.
Bee Remedy for a Bee Sting
More like same cures same than like cures like, right?
There’s a term for that, too, it’s Isopathy. But so long
as it’s made safe homeopathically and the symptoms
include swelling and red with burning
stinging pain, homeopathy can claim the credit. Just
remember that if the symptoms apply, it does not have to
come from a bee sting to choose
Apis. Hives, mosquito bites, sunburn blisters and
other skin issues with the
Apis pattern respond just as well. Swollen inflamed
joints, membranes, and glands from styes and sore
throats to urinary symptoms and knee pains can find
relief in
Apis as well - if the symptom picture fits.

Fireworks
De-Fused
Dear 1-800-Homeopathy,
The 4th of July is always a struggle for my hot, somewhat nervous
shihtzu dog Bilbo. He hates the pops, bangs and whirrs that dominate
my neighborhood for weeks. He matches
Phosphorus in many ways but
Nat phos works better for his thunderstorm anxiety and other
things. It has made the last two 4ths much easier. But this year
more than ever he has been vexed by hot itchy skin as well. I am not
sure what the allergy is yet. He has been a wreck! He was
frighteningly hot to the touch (though he did not have a fever), he
was constantly chewing, rubbing and scratching, then whining with
every snap and pop outside.
Nat phos helped but not enough. After your email about
Tissue E, I bought it to help my energy lags - it has been very
balancing. Because you explained the role of all the phos cell
salts, I decided to try it on Bilbo hoping that other phosphorus
traits might help. I reached down to pet him just 10 or 15 minutes
after the dose and he was so cool to the touch, I had to
double-check that he was breathing. He was napping comfortably. I
couldn’t believe it! I have given a few more doses since whenever he
gets restless. He is much calmer and happier overall - and so am I.
Thank you from both of us!
A happy dog’s owner
The homeopathic cell salt combination
Tonic Tissue E blends the 5 phosphate cell salt remedies:

Ferrum phos,
Kali phos,
Mag phos and
Nat phos. As they are all key remedies for the chemical

applies to a wide variety of personalities and problems - mental,
emotional and physical. For more details, here is the enews from our

Kali Bich
Brings Sinus Relief
As an animal lover, I always
seem to put my furry companion's health needs over my own. I am into
natural healing using herbs and such but had not tried Homeopathy
until just recently. When I brought my new Balinese kitty Soshin
home from a pet store, she developed a runny nose and eyes and even
yellowish discharge. I looked into natural pet care. I found the
ingredient
Kali Bich in a high-priced supplement, then remembered that I
myself suffer sinus distress including vice-like headaches in my
sinuses from temple to temple. So instead of buying the pet remedy,
I searched for
Kali Bich and came upon your web site. We have been using
Kali Bich successfully for two weeks now. "We" being me and
Soshin the cat. I keep it with me always--when a flash headache
starts coming on, I use the remedy and away it goes, not to mention
the drippy sinuses and sneezes from my happy cat. Now I am ordering
a whole set of homeopathic remedies for my daughter, who is almost
10 years old and exhibiting all the signs of peri-puberty. I can't
wait to get her started on the way to a more settled nervous system!
Kim M.
Kali bich amazes many with its ability to clear out sinus, ear
and nasal congestion and the pains that go with it. Whether your
congestion accompanies or follows a stuffy cold, or is due to pollen
or a reliance on anti-histamines to suppress mucus, if it involves
stubborn congestion, this homeopathic favorite is worth a look. |

Professional
Insights
In his book Homeopathic Medicine for
Small Animals, British Homeopathic Veterinarian,
Christopher Day answers the question, “Why Use
Homeopathy?” with this list:
1) No side effects.
2) No suppression of symptoms and signs, for later more
vicious reappearance.
3) No dependence upon diagnosis in the purely
conventional sense but more a dependence upon accurate
and exhaustive observation of signs and symptoms...
4) No need for laboratory experiments on animals for the
testing of medicines.
5) Allowance for and dependence upon a patient’s
individuality.
6) Whole patient treatment; it is often said after a
course of homeopathic treatment, that the patient has
‘never been better’. This implies a deeper effect of the
remedy than one might expect, acting upon the whole
patient not just upon the superficial symptoms of
disease.
8) No environmental pollution.
9) Ability to treat the foetus in utero...
10) In farm animals, no residues of medicines in milk,
meat, eggs, etc.

Dr. Richard Pitcairn ranks among the
top writers, instructors, lecturers and practitioners of
veterinary homeopathy. On his informative website, he
states: “I found homeopathy to be intellectually
complete and satisfying. As a 200 year old system of
medicine it has been very well developed and an
incredible amount of experience and information have
given us the tools we need to work with almost any kind
of health problem.”

Additional Resources
On The Academy of Veterinary
Homeopathy website, they answer the question, Why Choose
Homeopathy? with: “Most veterinarians are led to
homeopathy by a frustration with the chronic and
recurring nature of so many of the problems we see in
our animal patients. The goal of homeopathic
veterinarians is not merely to treat disease but to cure
it. This means that the symptoms of the disease are
gone, the patient feels better, and has no new symptoms.
Ideally, no further treatment is necessary.”

Many homeopaths, MDs and DVMs,
address the use of homeopathy for animals in their books
and sites: In her very popular book, Homeopathic
Medicine at Home, Dr. Maesimund Panos writes:
“Animals of all varieties including barnyard animals,
canaries, pigeons, a pet mink (to mention some that I’ve
heard about) benefit from the well-chosen homeopathic
remedy just as humans do. It’s particularly gratifying
to treat an animal homeopathically because no one can
claim that the remedy has merely a placebo effect -
‘it’s all in your mind’.”
Homeopathic veterinarian and teacher, Dr. Christina
Chambreau, has selected key remedies that we have
assembled in two unique veterinary kits:
