Belladonna
- As in everything this remedy treats, watch for sudden hot flushes with
dark red face, throbbing pain, especially headaches, plus dilated pupils,
bright red bleeding, sweating, violent emotions of anger and fear and
sometimes nosebleeds.
Cimicifuga
- Though a less often used remedy, it can be very helpful if a gloomy
cloud descends and the hot flushes are strongest in upper part of the
head. Other symptoms include sleeplessness, breast, pelvic and rheumatic
pain.
Lachesis
- This remedy's ailments, especially menopausal symptoms, do not like
tight clothing particularly around the throat. Other symptoms to look for
include: hot flushes with no perspiration that often occur after physical
or mental work, heat at top of the head, faintness, sensitivity to heat
and headaches. Everything feels worse when flow stops, and emotions
intensify as they become more talkative and suspicious.
Sulphur
- When head and extremities get the hottest part of the flushes, with
mild perspiration, intense bleeding, much fatigue, insomnia and a
heightened feeling of selfishness and disorder, this might be a relieving
remedy, especially for philosophic, dreamy individuals.
