Is your infant colicky?

February 2, 2012
According to WebMD, a colic baby is one who is healthy and well fed, yet cries for more than three hours per day, more than three days a week, for three or more weeks. This is a lot of crying for a new parent to deal with.

The source explains that it usually begins two weeks after the infant is born and can last up to as many as four months. There are a wide variety of things that may cause a baby to be colic. Common reasons for colic behavior include digestive pains, gas and heartburn due to the milk or formula.

Parents will sometimes try anything to calm their baby down and decrease crying fits. Some mothers find homeopathic remedies to be especially helpful in relieving colic.

Hyland's Colic Tablets may help soothe these mild upsets. The tablets can help provide temporary relief of symptoms associated with colic, including gas pains caused by feeding too quickly, eating irritating food and swallowing air. Parents may want to consult a physician if the conditions persist or intensify after using Hyland's Colic Tablets. However, for many parents, they are helpful in easing baby's pains and crying outbursts.
