| Did you ever have to eat a teaspoon of Ipecac
syrup to help you vomit something you should not have eaten? Nasty stuff.
Well, with the homeopathic principle that things which can cause symptoms
can cure those same symptoms, it makes sense that Ipecac is a leading remedy
for nausea, morning sickness and stomach flu. Ipecac is particularly
helpful with nausea that cannot seem to vomit but wants to, or that is not
relieved by vomiting. It can also help stop the pattern of vomiting after
everything that needed out is out. It is not intended to be used to induce
vomiting as its syrup is, though if the stomach insists, a dose of Ipecac
will not suppress it. Ipecac is also helpful in coughs with Ipecac's
nausea, children's green diarrhea, and gastroenteritis. Cases needing Ipecac
are marked by constant nausea, a clean tongue, thirstlessness, constant
salivation, empty belching and the tendency to feel worse with movement or
after eating or just from the smell of food. It may not help you spell
relief, but it will make sure you get it! |
