| As an effective general remedy for diarrhea, Veratrum has secured a place in
household kits, but for certain individuals its healing extends much
further. For acute care, its gastric complaints center on bouts of violent
diarrhea that put one in a state of near collapse marked by a pale face,
coldness and sweaty fever. The diarrhea may have simultaneous vomiting,
burning cutting pain, a thirst for cold water and leg cramps. Hot drinks may
ease things a bit as does gentle walking or being carried (at least in
babies), but real exertion makes everything worse. Beyond gastric problems,
the individuals who can get the most from Veratrum are ambitious and
persistent, with a desire to be successful. Thus it applies well to ailments
from loss of social position. This loss is often compensated by religious
fervor or self conceit- inflated pride.
M. Castro adds: Loss of social position is intolerable. Feels angry and
blaming and becomes busy (hyperactive) to compensate for feelings whirling
around inside. |
