This remedy is most often applied in topical ointments, creams, solutions and sprays, but can be taken internally to help promote healing of cuts and abbrasions. It can be particularly helpful if pain seems out of proportion to the injury.
Most reference books refer to Calendula as a remarkable healing topical remedy due to its uncanny ability to accelerate the mending surface tissues and minimize scarring. The only surface wounds that should not have Calendula are those that might have something trapped under the skin. Otherwise abrasions, sores, cuts, tears, lacerations, minor burns, mend quickly under its gentle guidance.
If sore spots or old wounds feel worse in damp weather, Calendula can be particularly helpful.
